Every visitor can be assured of a great Whitsunday sailing holiday when you go out on a bareboat charter yacht.
A bareboat yacht charter lets you indulge in the creature comforts of island resorts which cater for everything from family fun to couples seeking the last word in style, luxury and romance... but if a Whitsunday Islands resort is not your thing, you can spend the days relaxing on your bareboat or one of the Whitsunday Islands many beaches.
Geologically, the Whitsunday Islands are all drowned
mountains. Prior to the last ice age, they were connected
to the mainland and would have all been prominent mountains
in the area. The melting of the polar caps drowned the
valleys between the mountains, creating what are now called
the Whitsunday Islands with seven of these Islands having
resort facilities... Other than the resorts, the whole
area is
part of the
Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the uninhabited islands
are all controlled by National Parks and Wildlife.
You can visit the uninhabited islands by renting a bareboat
charter yacht, private boat, or water taxi. However, it
is necessary to obtain camping permits from the National
Parks office if you are intending to stay the night...
Many of the smaller islands have no paths or tracks, and
exploration is often restricted to walking around the
beaches and rocky points.
If there is a perfect holiday destination on the Queensland
coast, it is probably the Whitsunday Islands. It is here
that you can enjoy the delights of the Great Barrier Reef,
the warmth of
the tropics and a range of activities from bareboat yacht
charters... to scuba diving and bushwalking... a diversity
of lifestyles from backpackers and takeaways to luxury
hotels and international a la carte restaurants all meet
in a wonderfully harmonious combination of delights.
