Stay a minimum of 5 nights in these exclusive wilderness camps on the same self-drive Western Australia itinerary and receive a 10% discount on the total cost of your accommodation... All 5 nights must be booked at the same time.

*This wilderness camp Safari Pass is non-transferable and all accommodation is subject to availability and must be pre-booked. Normal cancellation conditions apply.

Note: Prices do not include national park fees where applicable. At time of publishing, (January 2006) camps do not hold liquor licenses and guests are required to bring their own alcoholic and soft drinks... Wilderness Camp hosts can provide touring advice and emergency communication assistance.

Each wilderness camp is operated in an environmentally friendly manner. Power is generated either by solar or by hybrid power systems... Overnight power requirements are supplied by high capacity battery storage, no noisy generators... All cooking and hot showers are supplied by LPG bottled gas... Water for drinking is filtered and treated when required... Refrigeration is either gas powered or low voltage. Most camps are built on Aboriginal lands in partnership with the local Aboriginal people... No 240volt power is available at any wilderness camp.

All wilderness camps are closed to the self-drive Western Australia public between 9.00am and 3.00pm daily to allow the camp to be serviced... Check in is after 3.00pm... As a general rule dinner is served at 6.30pm, breakfast is at 6.30am

Due to health requirements, all refrigeration is classed as commercial and constantly monitored. For this reason, refrigeration space for personal use, cannot be offered... Medical requirements excepted.

Imintji Wilderness camp is located 234 km north of Derby along the Gibb River Road close to Windjana Gorge National Park, and near Bell Gorge. The wilderness camp is located near Imintji Aboriginal community on picturesque Saddlers Creek, which offers you stunning views of the King Leopold escarpment... enjoy the spectacular sun rise and sun set.

Located between Bell Gorge and Manning Gorge, the wilderness camp of Imintji is the perfect base to visit the gorges of the lower Gibb River. A general store stocks basic supplies as well as being conveniently located near the local Aboriginal Imintji community, this makes Imintji the perfect two day layover on your Kimberley adventure... Diesel fuel and mechanical repairs are also available at the store...

Marunbabidi Wilderness campLocated 475 km from Kununurra and 7 km from the Kalumbaru Road, Marunbabidi Wilderness Camp is perfectly located for people looking for overnight accommodation on their way to either the Mitchell Plateau or Kalumburu. Voted by many guests last year as their "Number 1 Wilderness Camp", Marunbabidi offers both a beautiful un-disturbed bush setting... the cool waters of the upper King Edward River providing that a refreshing late afternoon dip after a day spent exploring this fascinating part of Australia.

The bush setting and permanent waterway is home to hundreds of native birds, making this the perfect bird watching location. Many photographs of waterbirds have been taken in this tranquil setting.

The area is rich in local culture and aboriginal art sites, and plays host to the Bush University, a joint project between the wilderness camp operator and the local Prap Prap community... Under this arrangement guests have the opportunity to live amongst the local people for five days, leaning about their traditional ways and culture.

As with all wilderness camps, Marunbabidi is permanently staffed by experienced camp hosts who are willing to share their knowledge of the area, as well as spoil you with good old style wilderness camp cooking and Kimberley, Western Australia hospitality... Ungolan wilderness campOne of Australia's most remote accommodation facilities, Ungolan Wilderness Camp in the Kimberley's is located on the banks of permanent water at Camp Creek, this is close to the Mitchell Plateau airstrip and only 10km from the spectacular Mitchell Falls. Being some 550km from Kununurra via the Gibb River Road it is a welcome and an ideal and welcome base for relaxation after exploration of the Mitchell Plateau.

A favourite of many self-drive Western Australia travellers, the wilderness camp is not only located on the banks of a beautiful waterway, nestled among a natural forest of beautiful Livestonia Palms... Ungolan camp is the major accommodation facility for Kimberley tour programs visiting the plateau, but is also the most remote camp with all supplies being brought in by light aircraft... This wilderness camp operates in an extremely fragile environment, but because of good environmental design this wilderness camp has minimal impact on its surroundings... Alcohol cannot be purchased from the camp but you are welcome to bring your own.

The Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park is located 312km south of Kununurra via the Great Northern Highway then 4WD access via the Spring Creek track... Bungle Bungle Wilderness Camp is located within the National Park, adjacent to the Purnululu airstrip at Bellburn Creek... This well appointed comfortable camp is an ideal base for exploring of the magnificent Bungle Bungle range. Many visitors stay at the camp on their self-drive Western Australia holiday for one or two nights, which allows plenty of time to explore this fascinating world heritage listed area.

Tents are off the ground on wooden platforms, with 2 single beds per tent, bedside tables, lights and linen... Permanent cook/camp hosts are on hand at the wilderness camp to welcome you on your arrival, and to make sure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
