With a Backtracker Rail Pass, overseas visitors can spend
up to six months exploring some of the great places between
Melbourne and Sydney and then on to Brisbane - or vice versa.
This pass gives you cheap train travel for unlimited economy class trips during the
specified time period.
For each rail pass, you will receive four bonus CityRail passes...
First there's a DayTripper ticket so you can travel all day
on Sydney trains, buses and ferries... Next is a return bus/train
ticket to Sydney's famous Bondi Beach... And then there are
two one-way train tickets to Katoomba, heart of the scenic
Blue Mountains... You can choose between making a day trip
or staying in the mountains for longer... And if you're a backpacker from overseas, this is cheap train travel.
Backtracker passes are available only to overseas visitors holding valid passports.
Pass allows:
- Access to CountryLink's full rail and coach network in
New South Wales
- Access to the capital cities of Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra
and Melbourne
- Over 320 destinations are accessible on CountryLink's
network
