Welcome aboard. Once you've settled into your cabin it's
time to explore. A spacious lounge car adjoins the First Class
Sleepers and is often the centre of activity for any journey.
The cosy, club-like setting is an excellent place to socialise
as well as sit to enjoy the passing Australian landscape...
The lounges have a bar with separate smoking and non smoking
areas, and is the ideal place to gather for a drink before
dinner... play a game of cards or have a nightcap with new
friends.

This beautifully decorated and discreetly luxurious restaurant
car with its own special historic theme provides the setting
for your enjoyment of fine food and wine.
Dining while traveling in a world famous train with panoramic
views across a vast beautiful continent is a marvelous experience.
All meals are included in Gold Kangaroo Service...
with all food being served on elegant china, accompanied by
fine glassware and cutlery.
Every taste is catered for and a wonderful selection of fine
food is offered for your enjoyment... all meals are prepared
on-board by the Indian Pacific's dedicated chefs...the ever
changing menu will often feature beautifully prepared native
Australian cuisine. For lunch you may choose from dishes such
as... Lamb and Lemon Myrtle Pie, (tender, marinated pieces
of herbed lamb baked in a thick crusted pie pastry)... Dinner
will feature mouth watering dishes such as Grilled Lime and
Ginger Snapper served with a delicate Thai sauce and julienne
vegetables.
Excellent wines and beverages can be purchased... Vegetarian,
children's and limited special dietary meals are available
if requested when you make your booking... Breakfast usually
commences at 7.00 am, lunch from 12 noon, dinner from 6.30
pm.

you can sit back and relax over a quiet drink while enjoying
your view of the passing scenery... video games and entertainment
are available in the Red Kangaroo Lounge.
Smoking is not permitted in the Lounge - a separate smokers
area is provided at the rear of the Daynighter Seat section
of the train.

Kangaroo Diner
Red Kangaroo passengers have their own bright, cheery restaurant
car where affordable and tasty meals, snacks and drinks may
be purchased... you will be tempted by hearty menus offering
steak, fish, chicken, roast of the day and so on... as well
as a selection of popular kids food such as burgers, pies
and hot dogs... Dessert or ice cream provides the perfect
compliment to the evening meal.
A full hot breakfast of eggs and bacon or a continental breakfast
is available along with special children's menus. Special
dietary meals are available on request. The Diner is fully
licensed... smoking however, is not permitted.
All Red Kangaroo Service guests have access to the Diner if
ordering from the Diner menu. Dress codes apply.
Red Kangaroo Buffet
Red Kangaroo Service guests can purchase a variety of snacks,
light meals and beverages from the licensed Buffet Car. Purchases
from the Buffet must be consumed either in the Lounge or at
your Daynighter Seat.
Smoking is not permitted in the Buffet, however a smoker's
area is located at the rear of the Daynighter Seat section
of the train... Meals and beverages are not included in the
Red Kangaroo Service fare. |
