There is not a postcard around that can capture the beauty you'll witness onboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway.

It's a view that was originally captured 100 years ago by teams of railway men armed only with picks and shovels. Today, that 34km track still winds its way through 15 hand made tunnels up to Kuranda Station - a Station which looks more like a beautiful botanical garden.

Climbing more than 300 metres through dense, tropical rainforest, the Kuranda Scenic Railway is a 90-minute journey encompassing deep river gorges, rugged mountain ranges and spectacular waterfalls.

At Kuranda visitors can discover a variety of unique attractions, including the bustling village markets, the internationally renowned Rainforestation... Bird World, a variety of aviaries and the colourful Australian Butterfly Sanctuary.

Traveltrain operates a twice daily service from Cairns and Kuranda stations, stopping to pick passengers up at the historic Freshwater Connection Restaurant and working in conjunction with the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, the world's largest gondola cableway.
