If you are a passenger flying on Rex from regional centres to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney you are now able to remain in the same terminal and connect smoothly to your Virgin Blue destination or vice versa, without the hassle of handling your own bags between flights.

What is the time between my Rex flight and my Virgin Blue service?
The minimum connection time (MCT) is 45 minutes between the scheduled arrival of the first flight and the scheduled time of departure of the second flight.

What happens to my luggage and where do I get my boarding passes?
When you arrive at your port of origin you will be asked if you have a connecting flight with Rex / Virgin Blue... If the answer is yes and you have planned for at least 45 minutes between connecting flights then your luggage can be checked straight through to your final destination... You will receive a boarding pass for your first flight but not your second. Therefore when you arrive at your transit port you will still have to go to the check-in counter of your next flight to obtain a boarding pass for that flight. If it is a Virgin Blue flight you can get your boarding pass from the Virgin Blue Express check-in counter.

What are the ports where I connect with Virgin Blue?
The three shared ports that Rex operates with Virgin Blue are Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. It is through these three ports that the Rex / Virgin Blue through checked baggage space. A complete list of sectors that Virgin Blue and Rex operate can be viewed by clicking here.

Can I book my child to travel alone on a Rex / Virgin Blue connection?
No, children under 12 who travel alone are classed as unaccompanied minors, and special conditions apply to their travel.These special conditions mean that unaccompanied minors cannot travel on a Rex / Virgin Blue connection.

Can I book my pet on a Rex / Virgin Blue connection?
No, due to the transit time between flights pets cannot be accepted for travel on a Rex / Virgin Blue connection.

Will guests taking excess baggage be charged fees from both carriers?
Excess baggage fees and allowances from each airline will apply.
