To help you make sure you don't forget anything, Holidays Allover has prepared this convenient packing list. Just print it out and use it as a check list.

Helpful hint: We've provided this list to help you remember the essentials. You obviously won't be able to take everything on this list! Leading travel experts all advise to pack light.

Clothes

This very much depends on where and what time of the year you'll be travelling... The key to travelling light is to set out what you plan on taking... and then halve it!

If you carry valuable equipment of foreign manufacture, make sure you register it with customs before leaving so you do not have the problem of customs wanting to charge you duty when you return.

Stop deliveries and have your post office hold mail
Arrange for care of pets, lawn, house plants, garden, swimming pool
Arrange for home security if you're worried
Empty refrigerator & garbage
Turn off hot water cylinder
Pre-pay bills (or ask a close friend to collect mail & pay bills for you)
Lock all doors & windows
Secure grounds if in cyclone area & season
Triple check that you have passport / tickets / money
