Fees and taxes you can expect:

National Parks and Marine Parks require fees for each person visiting Australian parks while on tour with a commercial operator. The fees are usually included in the price of your chosen tour however, at times the tour operator will charge the fee separate to the tour... This practice is common in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is referred to as a reef tax.

Australia also has a goods and services tax or GST which is 10% . Prices in Australia are required to be advertised as GST inclusive.

International and domestic flights purchased from overseas by non-residents, are GST free... Continued domestic flights or international flights are also GST free.

GST is payable on tourism services such as accommodation, day tours, guides, ground transport translators and meals. The tax applies to pre-booked and pre-paid goods and services in Australia, which are purchased before arrival in Australia, for example tours or accommodation. The prices quoted for your Australian holiday, by Holidays Allover will include the Goods and Services Tax (GST)... The total amount is payable at the time of ticketing your holiday.

Australia's Passenger Movement Charge (departure tax) is $AU38 per person and is pre-paid with your international airline ticket. Exemptions apply to children under 12 years and 24 hour transit passengers.
