Within the local Airlie Beach area are a range of self drive tours and walks that can be taken through
national park forests, up to the tops of the local peaks,
through rainforest gullies and out to untouched stretches
of the Coral Sea coastline.

Highlights
Airlie Beach – A day walk from Airlie Beach rises
steeply through tulip oak forests to the ridge tops for expansive
views of the islands and Whitsunday Passage.
Great Walk Whitsunday – Walks
range from one hour to 30kms/three days. Walkers traverse
over seasonal creeks,
enter lush palm groves and scale kills to views over
the Whitsundays.
Conway Range National Park – On the
way to Shute Harbour are a series of walks in national
parklands from
wetlands to peaks and down pristine coastline. Circuits
range from 1km to 5.4kms.
Shute Harbour – views of the picturesque Shute harbour
and Australia’s second busiest commuter quay from
Lion’s Lookout.
Coral Point – Atop Shute Harbour,
enjoy panoramic views of the Whitsunday Passage.
