Day trip to the (outer) Great Barrier Reef

Encounter the breathtaking splendor of the Great Barrier Reef in the air conditioned comfort of a high speed catamaran on day trips to one of two floating pontoon platforms on Hardy Reef... Cruises depart on their day trips from Shute Harbour and Hamilton Island for a day of adventure... it's your choice to get wet and snorkel or stay dry and enjoy the spectacular coral and reef fish from a glass-hulled semi-submersible or underwater viewing platform.

There are children's swimming enclosures,large uncrowded open sundecks and extensive shaded areas where you can enjoy the lavish buffet lunch.

All day trips provide for connecting transfers from South Molle Island,Daydream Island,Cub Med(Lindeman Island) and Long Island... Reefworld's features include large semi-submerged platforms for easy access to the water, infant's swimming enclosures, freshwater showers, change rooms and a large open sundeck with shaded area.

Introductory scuba dive
For the first time diver these day trips provide you with the opportunity to get an introduction to scuba diving which shows you how enjoyable and easy scuba diving really is!... After a 20 minute lecture on board en route to Reefworld, you will be fitted with your equipment in the dive area and then taken to the 'Moon Pool' for a practice session. Once you've mastered the skills, the dive instructor will gently guide you down the rope trail to a depth of 8-10 metres.

Certified scuba dive
For the more experienced divers, once an in depth briefing is given, which will cover any diver questions or worries, you'll enter the water via the Moon Pool and dive for approximately 45 minutes to a maximum depth of 16m.

 

Only six guests per night on each day trip are able to share the unique experience of a sleepover on the Great Barrier Reef...over two full days you get to experience the peace and tranquility of the reef at night.

Your day trip Reefsleep package offers a chance to explore the reef without the crowds.You have the opportunity to enjoy all of of Reefworlds facilities over two days and experience the peace and tranquility of Reefworld at night. Watching the sun set from the top deck is truly breathtaking and reefworld is the perfect place to star gaze-you will not believe how many stars there are or how bright they are until you have been out on the reef at night.

With exclusive time to explore the reef once all guests from the day trips have departed, you come face to face with schools of colourful reef fish and be amazed at the coral formations as you dive or snorkel along the reef edge.From the comfort of the underwater viewing chamber witness the spectacular transformation as the marine life comes alive after sunset.

'Pop' the champagne and be pampered by your own personal deck steward... drinks are served at dusk and dinner is alfresco style under the stars... Breakfast is enjoyed on the reef at a time of your choice the following morning.

• Cabin A is a multi-share accommodation room,fitted out with two bunk style beds,sleeping four.

These overnight day trips depart daily from Shute Harbour... take a hat, sunglasses, good sunscreen, camera, towel, change of clothes, light sweater and your swimming costume... For extra drinks or souvenirs you'll need cash or credit card.

Club Med Lindeman Island - guests transfer via water taxi to and from Hamilton Island.
